A DREAM ENDING

I passed through the park
The night was stark
And in the pitch dark
I heard a dog bark

At the break of dawn
I began to yawn
I saw a small fawn
Hiding in the corn

What a glorious day
A great month is May
So without delay
I made for the bay

Waves topped with white
The sea at full might
Soon faded from sight
In fast failing light

On rounding a bend
I met an old friend
We shared a fine blend
At a perfect days end
